Top 10 Modest, Retro Swimsuits
Filed Under Top Picks, Modest Clothes
There are a lot of gorgeous retro swimsuits in stores this season. These one-pieces are perfect for wearing to a more conservative event, for hiding a bit of bulge, or for achieving a glamorous, classy look.
Here are my top picks:
This basic black swimsuit has adorable neckties and a flattering shape. It’s a retro pinup girl classic.

This stylish number is my personal favorite (although a bit expensive at $164…). The swimsuit has halter straps, lace trim, and an adorable bow. I think I’m in love…

This classic black suit is similar to the sheath first listed, with a bit of a modern touch. It has halter straps and a higher-cut leg.

I adore this bright sheath suit with removable halter straps and an extremely flattering shirred design. Chic!

This retro swimsuit has a cute-as-pie cherry pattern. I usually prefer single color suits for a more classy, streamlined look. But, I have to admit this one is tempting.

The Marilyn Retro Dress Swimsuit
Alright…so, you’d have a difficult time getting me to wear this one in public. But, it is a gorgeous Marilyn design and some girls could really pull it off. So, start practicing those poses.

Here’s a cheaper version of my beloved Juicy Couture swimdress. It has a removable neck strap (not in the picture) and is only $42.50.

If you have a bit more to hide, this adorable swim dress is perfect. It’s longer and looser than most swimsuits. Extra coverage + super cute detailing.

Ester Williams is pretty much the queen of retro swimsuits. Her sheath suits are available in all sorts of colors and patterns. In my opinion they have a bit more of a mature look as compared to some of the more updated styles available…they’re totally classics.

This little number is cute and fresh. It has halter straps and chubby polk-a-dots in a variety of sizes. You can also get it in blue, black, or green. Best, of all it’s less than fifty bucks.

Wow…there really are a lot of gorgeous retro suits out right now. Even Target has a pretty cute Esther Williams knock off.
I’m not sure which of these 10 will make my “must buy” list, but I’m certainly inspired to do some sit ups and hit the stores!

Love these, especially the Cherry Swimsuit from MyBabyJoe. I, too, almost always go for a single color suit, but this one would be the exception.
the models are cute!
All of your choices are great, but you should check out my line too! I have a Retro / Vintage Swimwear line called Popina. I have one piece bathing suits and bikini separates. All my styles are designed to be modest, but fun and flattering.
