At about 3 a.m. last night I finally finished the printable wardrobe basics shopping list. It’s a check-off list of 25 essential items that pretty much every woman needs. If you buy these basics, you’ll be able to make hundreds of different outfits. I have just about every item on the list (although, I’m still waiting for the opportunity to purchase the perfect trench coat…)

The second page is a list of 100 “style recipes” that you can use with your 25 basics. If you aren’t quite sure how to mix-and-match your 25 pieces, this will get you started.

The list is a compilation of advice from stylish women I know as well as the suggestions given in books such as Harpers Bazaar Great Style, In Style Instant Style, The Budget Fashionista, and The Pocket Stylist. Take a look – you probably already have a lot of these items in your closet.

Forget the fashion shows, give me style advice I can actually use. I don’t care about the latest alien-looking fashion coming out of Milan. What I do care about is dressing chic and filling my closet with gorgeous clothes without breaking the bank. You won’t find debate about what’s “in” on this blog, but you will find helpful girlfriend-to-girlfriend advice about how to shop and what to wear in any situation. You’ll find take-to-the mall printables and clothing line reviews. You’ll also get helpful style tips, sales alerts, and coupon codes for a variety of stores.
